In every economy the work of different firms has to be coordinated. In a market economy this coordination is achieved by means of markets. Nevertheless the debate over the role for Government in a market economy is continuing and the issue is being widely discussed at the present time. An economy based on free enterprise is generally characterised by private ownership and initiative, with a relative absence of government involvement. However, government intervention has been found necessary from time to time to ensure that economic opportunities are fair, to dampen inflation and to stimulate growth.

This is the place where the family of the last Russian tsar Nikolai II was shot down at night between the 16th and 17th of July of 1918. These tragic events took place in the house of engineer Ipatiev, which was situated here. The house was ruined in 1977 by the order of the local government: too many people were interested in the history of the house.
The family of the last Russian tsar (Nikolai himself, his wife Alexandra, four their daughters: Olga, Tatyana, Anastasiya and Maria and their son Aleksey – the heir of the Russian throne) were brought to Yekaterinburg in May of 1918 from the exile in Tobolsk to Moscow.

The problem of the article in English is one of the most complicated. There is no single opinion about the functions and the nature of he article. Thus, it was stated that there is the category of definite/indefinite in English. Commonly it is expressed by the articles. There is a connection between the noun and the article. This connection defines the meaning of the noun. Articles play great stylistical role in the sentence. It is realized by two possible means: either by the violation of the combinativity of the morphemes in the word or by violation of the common usage of the forms of noun in the sentence.

A language can be studied synchronically and diachronically. In the synchronic approach a language is regarded as a fixed unchangeable system, while in the diachronic approach every linguistic fact is interpreted as a stage or a step in the never ending evolution of the language. In studying the history of the English Language we consider its phonetics, grammar and word-stock diachronically.
However the diachronic and synchronic approaches can be combined; the development of the language can be presented as a series of cross-sections, e.g. Old English, Middle English and Modern English.

Due to popular request, I have altered the format of the page. This was done because many people have felt the previous formats to be hard to read. I also hope to add new content to the page soon, I promise.

As with almost all "Christian" holidays, Easter has been secularized and commercialized. The dichotomous nature of Easter and its symbols, however, is not necessarily a modern fabrication.
Since its conception as a holy celebration in the second century, Easter has had its non-religious side. In fact, Easter was originally a pagan festival.
The ancient Saxons celebrated the return of spring with an uproarious festival commemorating their goddess of offspring and of springtime, Eastre. When the second-century Christian missionaries encountered the tribes of the north with their pagan celebrations, they attempted to convert them to Christianity. They did so, however, in a clandestine manner.

The introduction
The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow is a major world-famous collection of Russian graphic arts. The quiet Lavrushinsky Pereulok, a by-street across the Moscow River from the Kremlin, with the familiar building of the Tretyakov Gallery behind a wrought-iron fence, is frequented by both Muscovites and visitors to the capital. The Tretyakov Gallery firmly imbeds itself in the Russian’s intellectual life from their very early teens. Here, exposed to canvases by Russia’s foremost painters, people first awakened to an appreciation of art, to its message and emotional impact. The Tretyakov Gallery has become what can be described as a “popular” museum, with long lines of people queuing to get in. Russians are ardent devotees of art, and Russian museums attract the world’s largest crowds. The distinction of the Tretyakov Gallery is well known outside the Russia – foreign visitors from many countries of the world make it a point to include the Tretyakov Gallery into their Moscow schedule.

New government priorities and an enthusiasm for unconventional monetary policy are changing the way the currency markets work.
OVER most of history, most countries have wanted a strong currency—or at least a stable one. In the days of the gold standard and the Bretton Woods system, governments made great efforts to maintain exchange-rate pegs, even if the interest rates needed to do so prompted economic downturns. Only in exceptional economic circumstances, such as those of the 1930s and the 1970s, were those efforts deemed too painful and the pegs abandoned.

The English are very proud of their traditions and carefully keep them. When you come to England you're struck at once by quite a num¬ber of customs. Some ceremonies are rather formal, such as the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Trooping the Colour, the State open¬ing of Parliament. Sometimes you will see a group of cavalrymen riding on black horses through the streets of Lon¬don.
