Akyrtas (каз. Ayrtas) — the palace VIII—IX complex of centuries of construction in Zhambylsky area of Kazakhstan in 45 km from the city of Taraz, a monument of history and culture of republican value. For the first time Akyrtas is mentioned in the diary of the Taoist monk Chang Chun who went in 1222 from China through Sauries to Samarkand in Genghis Khan's camp. Here that is reported in its diary: "On the road the stone ancient settlement got to us: stones of absolutely red color; there are traces of an ancient military stanovishch. In the West there are big embankments sepulchral, located as stars in Medveditsa" .
