Outstanding people

    Music. What's that? For some people it`s only a background in life. But for others, like me, music is Life. It`s something I cant live without. So, out standing people for me are musicians. I'm going to tell you about greatest of them.

               Lars Ulrich

 

Date of birth : December 26, 1963.  
Place of birth : Gentofte, Denmark.

Music preferences : Heavy metal, thrash metal, hard rock.

Occupations : Musician, Songwriter, Producer. Instrument : Drums.

Years active : 1981–present.

Associated acts : Metallica, Metal Church.

Lars' father, Torben Ulrich, who was an acclaimed tennis pro from the late 1970s into the early 1980s, was also a musician, playing jazz; legendary saxophonist Dexter Gordon was Ulrich's godfather.

The young Ulrich bought the band's Fireball album the very next day. The concert and the album chanced  his preferences on rock`n`roll and later on, heavy metal. As a result of his newfound interest in music, he received his first drum kit from his grandmother at the age of thirteen. Lars' original goal and reason for moving to America was to play tennis, but the plan was later changed when he formed “Metallica”.

In 1991 Lars met James Hetfield in Downey, California and formed the thrash metal band “Metallica”. He got the name "Metallica" from a friend who was thinking up names for a heavy metal magazine he was starting up.

       Bruce Dickinson

Bruce is an English singer, airline pilot, radio show host, DJ, historian, TV presenter, diver, fencer, producer, novelist, and songwriter best known as the vocalist of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Dickinson performed for some local bands like Styx in 1976, Speed, (1977-1978), and then Shots in early 1979.

Joining Samson later that year, where he gained some popularity. In those bands he went by the name of "Bruce Bruce" He left Samson in 1981, because of some musical differences. Shortly afterwards, in 1981, Dickinson was hired as Iron Maiden's new vocalist, gaining worldwide fame, and being regarded as one of the most acclaimed heavy metal vocalists of all time.

Dickinson quit Iron Maiden in 1993 in order to pursue his solo career, being replaced by Blaze Bayley . Dickinson's solo work ranged a wide variety of metal and rock styles. Dickinson rejoined Maiden in 1999 along with guitarist Adrian Smith.

Bruce changed heavy metal with his voice and lyrics. There's no same voice as Bruce one. Everyone who likes heavy metal can name Bruce Dickinson Outstanding.

Tarja Turunen

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen Cabuli (real name) is a full lyric soprano and songwriter, best known as co-founder and the former female vocalist of Finnish power metal band Nightwish.

After playing keyboards in several heavy metal bands in the 1990s Tuomas Holopainen decided to create his own project while sitting around a campfire with friends in 1996. He immediately had a clear idea of the music: experimentally acoustic music he wrote by himself, similar to the music usually played around campfires, but with a distinct sound of atmosphere, played on his keyboards.

He soon invited friend and schoolmate Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen to play acoustic guitars, and the classical vocalist Tarja Turunen, who had the same music teacher as they. After recording the Nightwish demo, Holopainen decided that Turunen’s operatic voice was too powerful for an acoustic band, and decided to add in power metal elements, including electric guitars and drums.

Tarja was dismissed from the band on October 22, 2005 after nine years. Turunen is now devoting her time to her solo career under the stage name of Tarja. She is seen as one of Finland's biggest singers, having been called "the voice of Finland" by Tarja Halonen, the Finnish president.
